That woman is a fascist. Why are young people gibing monologues on meetings for older people, preventing the older ones from talking? Boomers need to shut up and worrry about themselves and let seniors represent their own interests.

Under Clinton there was game changing reform. Welfare rolls were slashed and can never return to the massive levels of Reagan and Bush 1. Ever think maybe that if people are healthy and educated, maybe they can get a good job and never even want welfare? BTW the people giving unnecessary treatments were abusing “cadillac” private healthcare plans not govt plans which don’t even offer “massage”. I watched that Dateline NBC too. As a mother you should care more about kids than the rich.
Ummm you kindas proved my point … More and MORE people are sucking on the welfare tit. The “millions” not covered either haven’t CHOOSE to get healthcare – or haven’t figured out how to get someone else to pay for it. You really don’t think people are ABUSING the system? Getting treatments they don’t need? Or Collecting money they don’t deserve? What rock do you live under?
We wouldn’t be having this argument if you didn’t insist that everyone who stands up for their own rights and wants to be heard by an organization to which they pay dues is a “serf.” You say this with no evidence and denigrate the intelligence of people who, if you were to actually watch what is happening in the video, you would see have well-reasoned concerns about the supported policies and the organization’s political associations. And, really? “Teabag”?
No actually, I don’t want to lose everything. But if I or anyone in my family gets really sick and are dropped by their insurance, I will. If the health insurers spent more money meeting their obligations to their customers and less on commercials riling up the poor white serfs to teabag for their rich feudal lords, we wouldn’t be insulting each other right now.
That’s what the rich want you to believe. Only poor people take advantage of the system. LOL. They won’t tell you this on Fox News, but people on welfare are already covered as are the disabled. Its those of us in the middle class who suffer because our insurers are already springloaded to eject us when our bills pass a predetermined level. Then more houses get foreclosed on and we all inch back toward a second great depression.
Also, AARP isn’t just for retired people anymore. It’s a group for people 50+. In fact, they’ve had a push lately to just go by AARP and ignore the old meaning of the acronym.
It’s really funny to see you talk about a “Repuke subservient serf mentality” when those “repukes” are the ones who don’t want to be subjugated under a large government. This is, of course, in opposition to you, who would apparently be happy to lose everything you had ever worked for. Assuming that you had, anyway.
Clan rally? You’re joking, of course. Maybe I’m crazy, but what I see is members of an organization whose voices are being ignored by the heads of that organization. Your comment about work is absolutely hilarious: how do you propose people earn money? Or is earning money something with which you are unfamiliar?
And, just as a small addendum: the whole “Repuke” thing is really boring and extremely childish. You might have said, “Republicans? More like GAYpublicans!” You’re 33. Act accordingly.
Our Government today is not all about PROTECTING our RIGHTS – They are all about CONTOL. Taking rights AWAY from citizens. Our Medical system is over run with ABUSE. People wanting to get a free check from the government are claiming disabilities they don’t have. Our Seniors have PAID into “the system” their whole lives – and are getting the short end of the stick now. Government – is Taking away medical provisions that THEY deserve.

The woman in this video states that AARP does not endorse the healthcare bill, however my Mother just received 2 seperate letters from AARP asking her to sign 3 petitions that would be sent to our area’s representatives in an effort to push the healthcare bill. She will be cancelling her membership.
In case you wonder where your health insurance premiums are going the industry is spending 1.4 million dollars a day lobbying Congress to derail reform. They are using our own money to screw us.
